Wow what a week feeling very drained as just finished all my work and slightly regretfully handed in my work. i finished the last bit this morning which was a slightly unconvincing poster for my look again thing again project which was by far my most unsuccessful project from the first three but i guess i only have my self to blame but i think you can see in my work i had not quite got back into the work at that point but i think over the next two projects you see a big difference in quality of work and how i got into them more. I do feel i would have like to do more work on them thought if we had more time like experimenting further with my greeting cards and designing new logos and furthering my colour scheme for my animal packaging project.
If feels good though to have handed it in and now have a little time off. Although i do have one last thing to do which is my dream weaver which needs to be handed in on Monday. I want to re-do it though to demonstrate i can use it better than i have done already but i mite not get chance to over the weekend as my sister is coming down on today and going home on Sunday so i will do it hopfully Sunday night and Monday day.

Monday 17th
after a long weekend its looking like its going to be a long week to as its deadline week for our three projects and have got to hand them all in on Friday.
PAL went ok to but i do think we need to have a more structured session so they get the most out of it because it can get a little dragged on and some seem a bit distant.
The rest of the day was spent sketch booking for hand in on friday until five when i had dream weaver but because i was ill last week and a few other people apparently were away we recapped CSS and went over a few other things so we knew what we were doing and had to do due to the hand in being next week.

Friday 14th
This weeks been a pritty long one as it didn't start very as i have been ill for most of it but have still been developing and following through on my ideas.
I chose to go with the polystyrene box and have developed my idea of the box and i feel really confident with this now as over the last week i have developed the package and the graphics of the box to almost complete it. For the first time this year have really got into a project and felt really confident with it.
My final idea is for the the package to be made out of polystyrene due to its durability, strength (takes impact well when droped and protects the product inside) as well as it being water proof and acting as an insulator. The idea is so that the product/watch inside the box has maximum protection and that the box will be able to be used again after being sold the watch in the box. The box will be sold with a outter layer of wetsuite material to add extra waterproof protection and so that it is shown to be water proof and the wetsuite material will also act so that graphics will be able to be put on the box easier than putting them on the polystiren box. The wetsuite will also be fitted with a zip which will also that hold the boxer together better and add more security.
In my final crit i expalined all this and more and it went really well and most people seemed to really like the idea. i have had my usual problem with coming up with many ideas and not yet quite being able to choose one that i want to follow thorough with completely yet. so hopefully the crit will help me.
After the discussion in the crit and sharing my ideas with my group i has come to my attention that some of my ideas may be to gimmicky, however i do have two that people seemed quite intregued by which was the wooden box inspired by the old wodden dominos box and the other being a polpsyreen box which the watches would be sold in. Monday 3rd
PAL went really well today, Matt went over blogs again with the last few people that didnt get chance to last week and for the people who were away, while my self and kat went back over a better version of time planning. James floated between the two groups helping out with imput.

Thursday 30th
New Brief
Today we were given the new brief, which is for Animal. The brief is a packaging brief for animal. it is to create new inventive packaging design keeping within the theme of animal yet trying to bring in a new and wider audience as watches as no longer selling as well as they once were.
To start this project we were split into groups of around 6 and 7 and were told to come up with a few ideas of where we would like to go with this, choose an audience, a theme and maybe a unique selling point.
We began with a group discussion and all started pritty well and we had a really good talk about how we would go at it, but when it came to breaking up and doing some research everyone got a little confused as to what they were doing as there was no communication during the research, which left us to gather last minute extra info to cover up a few gaps but all in all the presentation went alright although a little confused.

Monday 27th
Kept pritty busy today which has been good, started the day off with PAL session which now seem to be going well, me and matt Lewis helped create blogs for most of the group to get them started and James and Kat were doing time plans. The session went pritty well we thought well for mine and Matts end anyway, haha.
In the evening i had my second dream weaver session and its really good im really enjoying it to be honest, ive learnt a lot more than i thouhgt i would have done and am looking forward to the next lesson. weve got a bit of time off thought this week as we didnt get a new brief set and were not until thursday but we dont know what it is yet all we know it that its about packaging so should be interesting to see.

Friday 24th
This weeks been quite good and ive got really into my card designs i do believe i have over experimented tho looking in to do to many different things but once i had decided a genre i still found it fairly hard to develop m style correctly.
After the first crit on Thursday with the group, neil and claire i came out thinking i could easily finish these by tomorrow to meet the hand in. i did have work to show and the feed back i got was fairly straight forward that for a younger audience the music related pictures should be more obvious i.e. guitar, deks, maybe ipod. i should also use look to brighten up the colours so they stand out ad are more eye catching. i also took advice during the day to use vector images for my cards which i made two of but the illustrated cards seem to have a greater impact on people and my group seemed to like them more.
So going into the Friday crit led by sally and claire i felt resonably confident after making the recomended changes from yesterdays crit, making my cards brighter in colour and the illustrated images on them more obvious. Although i do wish to go further with them which i think may have came across in my crit and sally picked up on them and discribed them as unfinshed. i came out of the very confused after reflecting on the two crits in two days.. one crit had told me colour and obvious images would work but after the crit with sally i was told that my original pastal colours would be strong and to use other images. so where do i go from here. Very confused. gona go back to the drawing board and see what i can sculpt out from what i already have.
